A little bit of thinking and investigation later, I found another place where my database update wasn’t properly optimised. Monitoring a large queue being processed showed clearly one aspect of the processing was quite the bottleneck. What the table does not show is that all these activities were sent in a very short amount of time, while the usual number comes as a trickle during the day… ![]() The server was getting activities faster than it could process… Given the fairly low number of u sers of ConnectStats my server runs on a single computer on the cloud so has limited scaling ability… It works great with the regular trickle of activities from the app users, but here it was sending close to 5 days of activities all at once… You can see in the list the number of distinct active users sending an activity and the number of activities the server processes each day in the last few weeks…. When I saw activities coming again, I looked at my server to see that the queue processing the activities fed by the Garmin API was close to 10000 requests behind and growing. I never look too closely which one technically happened first overnight The day after It would be a race between Apple and Garmin: would Apple approve the new version before Garmin fixes the outage… Turns out a tough race to judge because on Monday morning when I woke up the app was approved and Garmin was sending activities again to my server. So I fixed both issues and rushed a new release on Sunday.

Qi's reporting also confirmed that the team has extended its contract with veteran players Wang Gang and Zou Dehai. The team, however, have made some progress in terms of paying back outstanding salaries, and Qi expected the team to be on healthier financial grounds with the league returning to normal and China relaxing its COVID-19 policies. Check out how I create all of my math resources in PowerPoint here.įirst, open a blank PowerPoint and delete any text boxes. I’m a PowerPoint girl, so I’ll show you how in PowerPoint. The last method to insert math equations in Google Forms is using the equation editor in Microsoft Word or PowerPoint. Use a Microsoft Office Application (Word or PowerPoint) The equation looks bigger and clearer than CodeCOGS. I like EquatIO because I can add equations right within the browser. Once you press “Insert Math”, you will see the equation in Google Forms. For example, if you want to type a fraction, start typing the word “fraction”. Simply start typing the symbol you want, and it will populate. Then click “Insert Math”.ĮquatIO does not have symbol buttons you press like CodeCOGS. When you click the blue icons, an equation editor will open at the bottom of your screen.Ĭlick the equation button and type the equation. I knew it was working when I opened Google Forms and saw the blue icons beside the questions and answer choices like the ones below. So, just be aware that it doesn’t work instantly. It still took about 24 hours for the extension to start working. It should pop up on your top menu bar.Īfter I downloaded EquatIO and added the Google Chrome extension, I restarted my computer. Go to the Google Chrome Web Store and search for Equatio. IMPORTANT: Make sure you register with the Google email you are going to be using to create Google Forms.Īfter downloading the software on your computer, you must install the Google Chrome extension to use it in Google Forms. This is the method I use for all of my Google Forms.ĮqautIO is currently free for teachers. Click here to see all the information about EquatIO. The next option of to use EquatIO™ with a Google Chrome extension from texthelp®. However, the pictures aren’t the best quality. This method the quickest, and you don’t have to download anything. Next, scroll down to smaller yellow box and select “URL” from the drop-down menu. The equation will appear below the yellow box. First, you type your equation into the yellow box. This first method is to use this website. I have listed three ways to insert math equations in Google Forms below. To insert math equations in Google Forms, you have to use another website or application. However, it does not have an equation editor built in to the application. To prevent the impact, use the Insert Equation buttons on the MathType tab in Word, rather than using copy ![]() Other than Sophos Enterprise Console has anyone else found a solution to let you mass deploy SAV9? The only approach that still gives you a proper installer package is via Sophos Enterprise Console running on a Windows server. This does let you manage via the Cloud your Macs, it does let your Macs directly update from Sophos, but a) the website for Sophos Cloud is not 100% Safari friendly, and much more importantly b) the installer it produces is yet again an application and not an installer package! The final possibility and the one Sophos are pushing Mac only customers to, is to sign up for an extra cost subscription to Sophos Cloud. However at least with Adobe Flash you can find if you look hard enough a standard package file to install Flash. (The application needs to be run as an application on each client Mac to do the actual installation.) This stupid design is like the equally stupid approach taken by Adobe and Flash. As a result it cannot be deployed using Apple Remote Desktop, Casper, Munki, or any other Mac management tool. Unfortunately Sophos have made this installer an application and not an installer package. It is even possible to pre-configure the auto-update account details for this. ![]() If you have no Windows Server, and can no longer use SUM, this leaves two more possibilities, first you could use the standalone SAV9 installer. It is therefore urgent to move all Macs to SAV9 by April 2014. SAV8 is being discontinued in April 2014 and does not officially support Mavericks. Unfortunately SUM only supports SAV8 and does not support SAV9. Previously Mac only organisations could use Sophos Update Manager to do much the same on a Mac server. Multi-platform organisations are likely to have a Windows server (or more than one) and can therefore run Sophos Enterprise Console to create and manage a Mac installer for Sophos Anti-Virus. ![]() Sophos have gone from being one of the best Mac enterprise anti-virus solutions to (perhaps) the worst. |
